This ancient art form encompasses a diverse range of instruments, dance styles, and repertoire, reflecting the cultural influences that shaped Japan throughout its history. Gagaku performances combine music played on instruments like the sho (bamboo flute) and hichiriki (oboe) with elegant, restrained dance movements. The costumes, often vibrant and elaborately decorated, further enhance the visual spectacle.  Traditionally performed for the Imperial Court, Gagaku is now also presented in concert halls and festivals, offering a glimpse into Japan's refined cultural heritage.]]></dcterms:description>
