The Sukur Cultural Landscape features a well-preserved hilltop settlement that is surrounded by a series of terraces, which were constructed for agricultural purposes. The terraces demonstrate the innovative farming techniques employed by the Sukur people to cultivate crops such as millet, sorghum, and vegetables in a challenging mountainous environment.

The architecture of the Sukur settlement is characterized by stone houses with thatched roofs, arranged in a compact manner around a central area known as the Hidi's compound.
