The Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, is located in the center of Beijing, China. It was the royal palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties (1420-1912) and one of the largest and most complete existing wooden palace complexes in the world. The Forbidden City represents the pinnacle of traditional Chinese architectural art and court culture. It houses more than 1.8 million precious cultural relics, which are of immeasurable value for the study of Chinese history, art and traditional crafts.
