Description

A 2007 street view of Hong Kong at night along Portland street shows a plethora of signs: some LED, some neon. Neon signs enjoyed its heyday in Hong Kong during the later part of the 20th century, with most businesses using as a form of identity and advertisement. Estimates put an average of 120,000 signs at the end of 2010. After 2010, due to tightening government regulations ordering removal of signs that did not "meet government regulations", their numbers have plummeted to less than 400.
