Description

It is located in Gojo-cho, Nara City, Nara Prefecture in Japan. The temple was built by the Chinese monk Kanzen in the Tang Dynasty and is known as a temple of Sino-Japanese friendship. It has been listed as a national treasure of Japan, and in 1998, it was listed as a World Heritage Site as part of the "Cultural Heritage of Nara, the ancient capital.
