Welcome to the Digital Great Wall, a platform to explore the culture of the Great Wall of China and climate challenges through interactive experiences. This project aims to showcase the historical value of the Great Wall and the climate threats it faces today through digital technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Introduction<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Great Wall of China is one of the most iconic military defense structures in ancient history, stretching over thousands of kilometers across China\u2019s mountains, grasslands, and deserts. It stands as a symbol of the Chinese people’s ingenuity and resilience and has been designated as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. As the longest architectural feat in human history, the Wall has witnessed the rise and fall of dynasties and the evolution of civilizations. In recent years, however, the Great Wall faces increasing threats from erosion, heavy rainfall, geological hazards, human activities, and\u2014most critically\u2014extreme weather events intensified by climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
