“If the current rise in global temperatures continues, half of the glaciers will be vanished by 2100.”
Climate Change is disrupting mountains
Mount Everest, the highest mountain peak in the world is facing many issues due to climate change. These include increasing rise in global temperatures which cause the melting of glaciers. Animals in the regions which are accustomed to cold temperatures will not be able to the heat waves in the future and this results in the extinction of flora and fauna.
The amount of carbon footprint in the region is increasing in stupendous amounts. At least 20,000 mountaineers summit the mighty Mt. Everest every year and plastic bag disposal is a major problem in the Sagarmatha National Park region.
