The main peak, Laoxiao, is 1600m above sea level. The mountain is known as “Qingcheng” because it is always green in all seasons, full of greenery, surrounded by peaks and resembling the outline of a city, and is known as “the seclusion of Qingcheng”, along with the danger of Jianmen, the beauty of Emei and the majesty of Kui Men. Qingcheng Mountain is divided into Qingcheng Qianshan and Qingcheng Houshan. The front mountain has beautiful scenery and many cultural relics and monuments, while the back mountain has mysterious and beautiful natural scenery and is as primitive as a paradise.

Qingcheng Mountain is located in the northwestern part of the Chengdu Plain in Sichuan Province, 68 kilometres east of Chengdu and just over 10 kilometres from Dujiangyan.

Climate change is having a significant impact on water resources in the Qingcheng Mountains region. A warming climate may lead to a reduction in precipitation, straining water supplies. In addition, extreme weather events may lead to a decrease in the quality of water resources, further exacerbating water supply problems.
